In addition to the deviation failure of the conveyor belt during use, it is also prone to tearing damage. The common tearing methods include longitudinal and transverse tearing. The transverse tearing is generally caused by the quality of the conveyor belt itself. The longitudinal tear of the conveyor belt mainly occurs at the loading point at the tail of the machine. The main reason is that the materials falling from the blanking port often carry foreign objects. These foreign objects usually have sharp edges, which can easily puncture the conveyor belt. When these foreign objects fall and get stuck on the blanking port, shelf or idler, they will form top pressure and continuous scratching on the surface of the conveyor belt, and the tighter the stick, the more pressure on the conveyor belt, making it The scratches to the conveyor belt deepen rapidly, eventually piercing the conveyor belt and forming a tear strip. If it is found in time, braking the belt immediately can also reduce losses. If not detected in time, there will be serious consequences.

Reasons for the tearing of the conveyor belt:

1. Belt tearing caused by impurities in the conveying material

The conveyed material is doped with foreign objects, such as iron, wooden sticks and other sundries, which will cause partial damage to the belt body when falling, and in severe cases, directly penetrate the conveyor belt and get stuck in the funnel, chute, frame or idler  On, the conveyor belt runs forward at high speed, causing longitudinal tearing of the conveyor belt.

There are large pieces of material entrained in the material, which are stuck between the hopper baffle and the buffer idler , or between the idler frame and the conveyor belt in the return section, scratching and pressing the conveyor belt for a long time, and the surface of the conveyor belt once If it is punctured and scratched, the wound will deepen rapidly, and finally cut through the conveyor belt to form a tear belt. From the perspective of microscopic composition, the rubber conveyor belt is mainly composed of three parts: skeleton material, covering layer and primer material, of which the covering layer is the key part that determines its performance and use. According to the different raw materials used in the covering layer, the conveyor belt industry can be divided into two categories: heavy-duty conveyor belts and light-duty conveyor belts. The former uses rubber (including natural rubber and synthetic rubber) as the main raw material, so it is also called rubber conveyor belt. The scope is concentrated in the fields of heavy industry and infrastructure construction; the latter mainly uses polymer materials, which are mainly used in light industries such as food and electronics. Therefore, the removal of large pieces of material and foreign objects contained is the key to preventing the tearing of the conveyor belt.

2. Belt tearing caused by improper installation of conveyor auxiliary equipment

In addition to the threat of the material itself, in the process of transportation, the drop of the conveyor belt itself is also a major cause of tearing. Rubber conveyor belts have the characteristics of heat-resistant belts, wear-resistant belts, burning-resistant belts, oil-resistant belts, alkali-resistant belts, alkali-resistant belts, heat-resistant belts, and cold-resistant belts. Mainly used for solid material transportation in various mining, metallurgy, steel, coal, hydropower, building materials, chemical, grain and other enterprises. For example, the lining of the vibration device, the hammer head of the pulverizer, and the adjusting block of the blanking port may fall off, which may cause the conveyor belt to tear.

3. Belt tearing caused by imperfect structure of conveyor

The design of the belt conveyor is unreasonable, and the drop of the blanking point at the tail of the machine is large (the maximum drop in the operation area is nearly 10 meters), which causes the material to impact on the lower conveyor belt at a high speed, and it is easy to insert at the blanking point. Conveyor belt, causing the belt to tear.

4. Conveyor belt tearing caused by material blockage

The transfer chute is small, which is easy to hinder the passage of materials and impurities and cause the conveyor belt to tear.

5. Tear caused by the falling of the intermediate roller

The conveyor belt is directly pressed on the bracket supporting the middle idler, and the heavy load makes the conveyor belt press against the bracket, and the bracket cuts through the conveyor belt like a knife, causing tearing.

6. Tear at the handpiece

Because the machine head is full of materials, the material is wedged into the connection beams on both sides of the machine head, causing the tearing of the tape; or the sharp foreign objects such as metal wires are caught in the middle of the scraper of the machine head cleaning device, causing the tearing of the tape.

7. Conveyor component Hitch causes tearing

If the end cover of the idler  is not welded, the end cover of the rotate cuts the conveyor belt like a rotating blade. When the wire rope in the conveyor belt breaks (fracture), the broken wire rope end will be exposed outside the cover rubber from the conveyor belt joint, the sticky mouth or the serious wear (a basic type of component failure). When the exposed wire rope reaches a certain length, it may be twisted into the drum, idler, etc., with the operation of the conveyor belt, the wire rope will be pulled out from the cover rubber of the conveyor belt, causing the core to tear.
